Microsuction is a procedure that clears the ear canal using low pressure suction under direct vision using a microscope.

Ear Surgery

Cochlear Implant Surgery

This is performed under general anaesthesia. An incision is made behind the ear to open the mastoid bone leading to the middle ear space and an opening is made in the cochlea where the implant electrodes are inserted.

Eustacian Tube

Grommet Insertion

A grommet is a small ventilation tube inserted into the ear drum. This procedure is carried out to remove fluid behind the ear drum, allow air into the middle ear and prevent further build-up of fluid.

In Ear Steroid Injection

Acute otitis media is a viral or bacterial infection of the middle ear.





Labyrinthectomy

A labyrinthectomy is a surgical procedure that is performed to treat severe vertigo for patients who have not responded to more conservative treatment options.


Ossiculoplasty

Ossiculoplasty is an operation performed to reconstruct the hearing bones of the middle ear when they have been eroded by disease or do not work.


Semicircular Canal Dehiscence Surgery

This surgical procedure is performed to close a defect in the affected semicircular canal and bring relief from hearing and balance symptoms.

Stapes Surgery

Stapes surgery, also known as stapedectomy or Stapedotomy, is an operation performed to treat conductive hearing loss due to fixation of the stapes, the innermost hearing bone in the middle ear.

Tympanoplasty

Tympanoplasty is a procedure to repair a perforated or retracted eardrum. It may be performed at the same time as an ossiculoplasty.



Tympanomastoid Surgery

Tympanomastoidectomy is a surgical procedure to treat chronic middle ear disease, most commonly cholesteatoma – LINK to cholesteatoma.


Other Surgery

Turbinate Reduction

The removal of the adenoids at the back of the nose.



Endoscopic Sinus Surgery

To straighten the bone and cartilage that separates the nasal cavity in to two sides (septum).


Blind Sac Closure

The removal of the tonsils, commonly performed to treat recurrent tonsillitis and obstructive sleep apnoea.

ITS

The removal of the adenoids at the back of the nose.



Experience

Dr Rebecca practises evidence-based, patient-centred ENT for adults and children. Testament to her compassionate approach and rich clinical experience, she was awarded the Singapore Healthcare Gold Service Quality Award in 2022.


Dr Rebecca is passionate about ear and hearing health and is considered a key opinion leader in ear and hearing conditions. After moving to Singapore, she co-founded the hearing implant programmes at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Sengkang General Hospital. The Adult Cochlear Implant team subsequently won the JurongHealth Campus Service Quality Patient Experience Award.
